Who’s your unsung hero? Nominations now open for the Gary Logue Colorectal Cancer Nurse Awards
Friday 21 July 2023
We’re inviting you to nominate an outstanding colorectal cancer nurse for the ninth annual Gary Logue Colorectal Cancer Nurse Awards in September.
The awards will be presented at the in-person National Colorectal Cancer Nurses Network (NCCNN) Annual Education Event at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre on Thursday 28 September 2023.
We want to hear from you about the amazing nurses you're proud to work with or who've helped you, or a loved one, through treatment. You can recognise them by nominating them for an award. The winners of both the patient nominated and colleague nominated award will each receive £500 towards their professional development.
The awards were set up in memory of Gary Logue, who worked as a nurse for the charity and passed away in 2014, in honour of the contribution he made during his career.
Chloe Pearce from Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, winner of the 2022 award, says: “I was truly touched and humbled to be nominated by one of my patients for this award and I am honoured to have been chosen as the winner! I am passionate about my role and will continue to do everything in my power to support all of my patients in their cancer journey.
It is a privilege to work with patients and their families during some of the most difficult times in their lives and to make even a small difference makes it all worthwhile.”
Nominations close on Thursday 10 August 2023 and the shortlist will be announced Thursday 7 September 2023.
